NEW EVERYTHING...

i had my hair cut the other day....
My only preferences were that i look more masculine, and nothing asymmetric.

this was the result....

the picture on the left being the masterpiece i actually paid hard earned cash for.... the picture on the right my outraged-hacking-off-at-home attempt.

FAIL.

that is all.

Kamikaze Girls,,,

Watched this movie last night-
Kind of a cross between tank girl, Beatle Juice, a John Waters feature and a Lachapelle shoot. very cute but twisted. The main character is a Japanese pop star, so can't help but feel a bit Britney/cross roads about it- but It's much much better. If you see it around- watch it!

Norton is my idol.

I have a current obsession with heavily patterned tailored trousers, some so violent on the eye they should come with an epilepsy warning. I've even caught myself getting excited over 90's Versace on ebay, I've been told to calm down by certain folk, but i think if a jobs worth doing....
I can't help thinking 'Graham Norton is my current fashion icon?' so wrong, but yet so right.
Get ready to get wonky eyed as you stare into someone crotch.

Rohan Kale, MA graduate from LCF this year has some beauties...

other faves are Mcqueen, last season. mens. womens. all.
Makes me want to rip down my grans curtains, reprint them and get them on my legs. in a good way.

I get around...

It's been a while since my last blog. Today I have the morning and most of the afternoon off, so i thought I'd get on it... I moved to a new house, shot a massive amount of images and worked with some amazing people... as Myles puts it 'Been dead busy me' ha.

here's some schnapps!
Rai's tremendous 'Lemon Rouleaux'...

Shoot for Putri's accessory collection ended in a nice pint at the pub and tons of sushi!

Final image for Michael Van Der Ham 's collection promo...

(Clothing - Michael Van Der Ham!
Styling - me! Photography - Rai Royal! Make-up - Lucy Bridge! )

Myles and I shot 'Dragonette' in prep for their 1st single release from their 2nd album- 'Fixin' to Thrill'...

Every shoot should have a trampoline on the rooftop, I now refuse to work without it....

More to come. (tiz taking too long to upload for some reason) xxx

"Don't Fuck with me Fellas"

watched this again last night- love this scene...

The preferred 'Duffy'...

I am always attracted to strong, opinionated females, maybe this comes from my childhood, preferring over playing out, to spend afternoons drinking tea with my godmother, 'helpfully' picking off her nail varnish for her, as she discussed recent goings on in our small town. I still get a strong reminder of her when ever I'm near a mohair jumper, eat fresh rhubarb, or see a Chysanthemum... These memories have a close link to my obsession with middle aged performers such as Angela Lansbury, Betty Davis and oddly of all Cilla Black (i'll come back to that another time!)
Is it any wonder I have an attraction to all things camp?? !!

And so May sees the appointment of a new strong woman who fits this bill. Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. Taking over from Andrew Motion, Duffy will be the second laureate to take the '10 year' fixed post- previously being a life long title. She will also be the first female, the first Scot and also the first appointed of the 21st century.
Considered for the title 10 years ago- but apparently denied by Tony Blair, who thought that having a female - homosexual poet laureate would upset 'middle-England', It will be interesting to view the reaction to her work, as already her poem "Education for Leisure" was removed from GCSE poetry examinations due to references to knife crime, with schools being urged to destroy all copies.
Of her own writing, Duffy has said, "I'm not interested, as a poet, in words like 'plash'  – Seamus Heaney words, interesting words. I like to use simple words, but in a complicated way." Singer-composer Eliana Tomkins, with whom Duffy collaborated on a series of live jazz recitals, says "With a lot of artists, the mystique is to baffle their readership. She never does that. Her aim is to communicate."

Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy
Not a red rose or a satin heart.

I give you an onion.
It is a moon wrapped in brown paper.
It promises light
like the careful undressing of love.

Here.
It will blind you with tears
like a lover.
It will make your reflection
a wobbling photo of grief.

I am trying to be truthful.

Not a cute card or a kissogram.

I give you an onion.
Its fierce kiss will stay on your lips,
possessive and faithful
as we are,
for as long as we are.

Take it.
Its platinum loops shrink to a wedding-ring,
if you like.

Lethal.
Its scent will cling to your fingers,
cling to your knife.

LFMARKEY

Over the past few months, I have been working with the lovely Louise Markey for her label LFMarkey. Minimal, bold, structured are key features- She makes her tailoring seem effortless, and with her graphic vision, creates something both exciting and classic.
The look book I styled for her has just been printed and looks slickkk!
Based around Tudor portraiture, whereby the
name of the game was to look stern, respectable and above all wealthy, often showcasing important objects- we took this idea and brought it up to date, using technology- for instance a laptop, an iphone etc.... Here's a sample - X

Check out her site for more- her basics collections are also up, so take a look ;)

I've never been one for blogging, but I think now's the time to give in...

So I am aiming to link this up with my site (if all goes to plan!) But for now I thought I'd use this to keep a track on what's been happening recently.

A shoot I recently worked on for the publication Soy Victim came out today, with one of my images on the cover! It was my first shoot back for a while after taking some time to work on other projects, and it's also my first ever cover! so I'm happy happy!!

will post a couple of the other shots... it turned out t0 be a 16 page shoot, but i wont bore you with all... you can wait for my website for that! haha.
